In light of Justice Scalia's parading of a fictional character as a case study for torture, I'd like to address someone from the other side of the pond who - after 6 years fighting for the forces of good against a terrorist organisation - attempted to torture a member of that organisation.
He did this not to extract information, but to retaliate for the murder of his mentor, teacher, and friend.
I speak, of course, of Harry Potter.
<Warning: this diary contains Harry Potter spoilers. If you're one of the 4 people on Earth who hasn't read the entire Harry Potter series, you might want to skip it.>
